ONLINE THERAPY FOR HIGH-FUNCTIONING PROFESSIONALS
Successful on the outside. Struggling on the inside?
You’ve built a capable life. Other people may rely on you, admire you, or assume you have everything under control. But anxiety, pressure, overthinking, burnout, or a loss of meaning can make it difficult to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to create.
I offer thoughtful, confidential online therapy for professionals who are ready to understand what is happening beneath the surface—and change it.
When competence stops feeling like enough
You know how to perform, solve problems, and keep moving. That ability may be one of your greatest strengths. It can also make it surprisingly easy to hide how much you are carrying—even from yourself.
You may be:
- Accomplishing a great deal while feeling chronically tense or dissatisfied.
- Replaying conversations, decisions, and possible outcomes long after the moment has passed.
- Exhausted by work that once felt meaningful—or unsure what meaning looks like now.
- Feeling lonely, irritable, sad, or emotionally disconnected despite having people around you.
- Wondering why success has not brought the peace you expected.
These experiences are not evidence that you have failed. They are signs that something important needs your attention.
Therapy that goes deeper than quick fixes
Therapy with me begins with a real conversation. We slow things down enough to understand the feelings, relationships, experiences, and inner conflicts shaping your life now.
I draw from psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic and existential approaches, and practical strategies from CBT and DBT. We are not merely trying to suppress symptoms. We are working toward insight that becomes usable change.
What can change
You can understand your patterns more clearly, respond with greater freedom, communicate more honestly, and make decisions that fit the person you are becoming. The goal is not a perfect life. It is a life that feels more coherent, meaningful, and genuinely your own.
Thoughtful therapy for demanding lives
Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005 • Former university professor • Confidential video or phone sessions • Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Vermont

Hi, I’m Michael.
I have been a full-time counselor since 2005 and previously served for ten years as a university professor. Across two decades of clinical work, I have learned that intelligent, capable people rarely need to be told to try harder. They need a place where they can stop performing, think honestly, and be deeply understood.
My background includes advanced interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Christian spirituality, critical thinking, and emotional understanding. Faith can be part of our work when it matters to you; it does not have to be.
I bring clinical experience, genuine curiosity, warmth, and directness to our conversations. We laugh sometimes. We may sit with difficult things. Most importantly, we work together.
How I Can Help
Our work is tailored to you, but many clients come to me through one of these doors.
